Yes our tape is made of corn, our ink of algae, our paper is made in Michigan, our stickers are post recycled and can go in your compost bin.
We choose glass and paper over plastic over and over again.
This is the perfect time to announce our Vase Buy Back Program. First Sunday of the month, bring us our vases and you get a couple stems of bunch of flowers.
Most of our weddings and memorial offerings have a deposit, something to return to us, to be used again not thrown away.
No flower foam here, don’t make me puke. That is the single use green foam micro plastic that ends up in our water. If you are looking for an environmentally loving florist, they would not be using this.
Our rubber bands are reused, our recycling bin is filled to the brim. Any plastic buckets, rope, irrigation and fabric is cared for to maximize its life. We clean our plant tags and reuse them.
Our compost situation is a near nightmare, but I don’t care, composting is what we are doing. period.
All what you would expect from a committed environmentalist! And I could go on.
The next layer to this is how so much is done by hand here.
Largely by Dan, my artist husband hands. In the basement we make our own prints.
Eco ink on craft paper to make our bouquets wraps, bonus points for an artistic fun/weird design.
Cards for our handwritten notes are hand screen printed, and punched out by hand.
We make posters, t-shirts, and our little ornaments here.
Not mass produced, not found everywhere else.
All hyper local, made with fun and love. For all things.
Oh and we are always improving, let me know any idea you have at all, I would appreciate that:)
