All natural materials. Glass, wood and pressed flowers from our farm.
Absolutely solid, absolutely darling. Dan and I have been designing this since July, we are so proud.
The humble umbel ornament.
Little florets from White Dill we grew from seed. It’s scientific name Ammi Majus, is etched on the wooden frame.
We Adore Flowers 2024 is etched into the back side, to mark place and time like so many classic ornaments do.
The ornament measures 3.33” and .33” thick. Weights 73 grams, not too heavy, but it does need one of the thicker branches.
Tied with a silk loop to hang on the tree and in a window.
The umbel family has a fascinating lacey design, a repeating pattern. It is extraordinary.
Yet the umbel family itself is about as common as it gets, extremely ordinary.
And here we are encasing this beauty in two rounds of glass. To go on our trees, to be celebrated on a beloved holiday.
Another example of the insane beauty that surrounds us in this magical world.
Common yet extraordinary, just like each of us. There is such much poetry in this, please send me your thoughts.
The humble umbel ornament comes in a gift box.
I can gift wrap this for you, in fact I’d love to. This summer I was saved by the woods. Again. All the brokenness in the world had me really down.
We will be donating all of the sales of gift wrapping of the ornament to the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy, the caretakers of the woods and parks near us here in Ypsi.
We can also ship directly to you or the recipient. We will be sending that out the next business day. We are taking orders for shipping through December 19th.
